Christie is a connoisseur of life, and of all things beautiful. She is a frequent host of parties, effortlessly gathering friends around her, whether at her home in Shanghai or on a boat in Phuket. Yet, compared to her profound wisdom, impeccable taste is perhaps the least of her virtues.
Q: As someone who genuinely loves to have fun and knows exactly how to do it, could you share a few of your ultimate highlight experiences?
A: Across an entire lifetime, that’s a bit hard to count! Let’s just talk about two from this year. My birthday this year was incredibly joyful. Close friends flew into Phuket from all different cities; we went clubbing at a floating beach club on the ocean and popped a 9-liter bottle of champagne.
The other one that comes to mind is a summer road trip through Scotland, up in Orkney, one of the northernmost archipelagos in the UK. We had no fixed destination. We just drove until the road ended, got out, and strolled along the cliffs. That scenery, that feeling... it defies description. It was pure magic.
Q: Whether online or right next to you, people are always lit up by your high energy. Where does that energy come from?
A: Actually, this is the first time I’ve received that compliment! If it’s true, it probably stems from my curiosity. I’m interested in absolutely everything. To me, there is always more to learn.
Q: What currently holds your greatest interest or demands the most of your attention?
A: Work! SPOSH is the biggest project of my life so far. Creating a beauty brand is an incredibly complex process; there is just so much to study and research. Our very first batch of products is about to launch, so right now, I’m facing an entirely new challenge.
Q: What sparked the idea to create an outdoor beauty brand like SPOSH?
A: I wouldn't say there was a specific "spark." It was more like an intersection—the moment where the things I yearn for met the experience I’ve accumulated. Over the past few years, I’ve grown deeply drawn to the outdoors and completely fallen in love with it. All of my absolute happiest moments now happen when I'm playing outside. The "accumulation" part comes from my deep understanding and personal reflections on cosmetics and the essence of beauty itself.
Q: What do you usually do on the sofa?
A: Cuddle up with my dog.
